Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry announces that the European Commission has reimbursed EUR 664 million at the beginning of January, amount sent in the expenses account of the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture (APIA) during October 16-November 30, for the prepayment from the direct payments financed by the European Fund for Agricultural Guarantee.

These expenses were financed initially from the state budget, according to the European previsions and are reimbursed afterwards by the European Commission, according to a release of the Agriculture Ministry.

„We mention that the payments financed from the European Fund for Agricultural Guarantee are made at the exchange rate established by the European Central Bank of EUR/RON 4.599 and published in the Official Journal of the European Union, series C,” say the Agriculture Ministry’s representatives.

According to the law, the prepayments were made during October 16-November 30, 2017. Also, according to the European Parliament and Council’ laws, the payments within the aid schemes are made during December 10 June 30 of the following calendar year.
